Hi, I'm Shagun. I operate at the intersection of technology, business, and execution, turning ideas into action through cross-functional collaboration. My journey spans from data science roles at global investment firms to working with a family office, helping guide startups through pivotal moments, including an IPO. With a Master's in Data Science from Northeastern and driven by curiosity, I'm currently exploring startups, automation, and technology that creates meaningful, real-world impact.
I take chances. A lot of them. That mindset has led me down some unconventional paths. Most recently, I worked with a family office on the IPO of an edge computing company and additional tech investments. Working directly with the managing partner, I wore many hats: translating abstract ideas into clear execution plans, managing internal systems, conducting technical diligence, and building relationships across stakeholders. It was humbling, but exactly where I needed to be.
Before that, I worked as a Data Scientist at MFS Investment Management and McAfee and earned a master's in data science from Northeastern University. While I built a strong technical foundation, I discovered something crucial about myself: though I love creating and understanding systems, I don't thrive when coding in isolation. I thrive at the intersection of technology and business, connecting dots, seeing the bigger picture, talking to customers, and understanding real business needs. This realization naturally drew me to operational roles where I could blend my technical expertise with strategic thinking.
Growing up, my teachers told me I asked too many questions. They weren't wrong. I'm endlessly curious and passionate about problem-solving across industries, sectors, and scales. One of the directors at MFS once joked, "By the time she leaves, she'll know more people here than the rest of us combined." She wasn't wrong either. I talk to everyone. It's a habit shaped by switching schools across different states in India, and one that has become one of my strongest assets.
These days, I'm exploring the intersection of startups, investing, and automation, always on the lookout for ideas that blend technology with meaningful real world impact.
